Use the MyGolfBuddy USGA handicapping system for free to track your unofficial
USGA handicap, or join
or start a local Type 3 USGA handicap club
to get officially USGA indexed. You must have
a valid USGA index to participate in amateur
tournaments and to play at some of the elite
courses. For example you have to have a valid
handicap index of 24 or less to play The
Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.
